"TRAUMA"
so today was starting out to be a good day. savanna slept in till 4:45 am! wooohoooo! and then i got up at 8, so that was nice. i was getting carter ready to have his friends from playgroup come over. i changed his diaper, put his shorts on, and then i had him standing on the changing table to put a cute shirt on him. i turned to the closet and "WHAM" carter hit the floor with NOTHING to break his fall, but his face. i'm tearing up right now about it. i think i've cried like 80 times today!!!!! it's sooo emotional to see a 2yr old in pain, and not really be able to do anything about it. so anyway, i quickly ran to him and he was bleeding like no other. brennan was home, so we cleaned him off and tried to calm him down. at first we thought we would have to take him to the e.r., because there was so much blood and his lip is split, and not to mention 2 very loose teeth. but we called our pediatrician dr. chang and talked to the nurse and she said they wouldn't do stitches inside the mouth for some reason. so we then called a pediatrician dentist dr. chu and they said to bring him in. so carter got to have his first dentist appt as a "TRAUMA" patient. she was actually very sweet and good with carter, but of course he was freaking out while she was looking in his mouth and i was tearing up AGAIN! she said she wants to wait till his lip isn't so swollen to take xrays. and we have to put him on a soft food diet. we also need to watch the 2 teeth that are VERY loose to see if they turn yellow (that's a good sign) or if they turn gray carter could spend the next 3 or 4 years of his life with one less front tooth and one less side tooth. uhhhhh! i'm so mad at myself! i know accidents happen, but that is one i could of avoided..... so needless to say today isn't one of my better days. not to mention the fact that we move one month from today... after trying to get carter to take a nap for 3 hours he finally fell asleep on the couch watching tarzan. it's sweet moments like that, that make being a mom all worth it.

oohhh poor little carter. His lip is so big. we went to cafe rio tonight with the fam, wish you were there!
poor guy! i hope he is feeling better... and mommy too!
Oh what a sweet little guy. I can't believe how big his lip is. I am not going to be able to handle when my kids get hurt, I know it. Just yesterday I was in tears because little Blue fell off my rather low stool. I am such a whimp. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
oh my gooooodness! Poor little Carter! And poor you too. It really is sad to see your child in pain. But don't beat yourself up over it. Accidents happen to everyone! It's always sad though, when it's your own little one.
Oh Rachael...so sorry!!! Hope he is doing better...and I hope he keeps his tooth!!
Just to make you feel a little bit better... when I was 8 months old my dad left me on the changing table, I rolled off and broke my leg. I had a cast all the way up to my him for 6 weeks and learned to crawl that way. Accidents do happen, and it will make a good story to tell later! I hope he is feeling better!
