get your sew on!
i have been wanting to make this blanket for savanna forever and i had a gift blanket i wanted to make too, but i knew it would just be hard to get it done before we leave. so i came up with an idea to go up to rancho and work on them kid free. i asked dana if she had anything she needed to make and she came up too and camille had some fabric for a quilt that she wanted to make for her bed, so tuesday we made it happen. of course we had to start by gettin lunch first so we ate at the good ole in-n-out! yummy. then we got started. dana made several burp clothes for her cute business "joon bug" and i was working on my blankets (i actually found WAY cute fabric online, so i didn't even sew my original fabric, i guess another time). and camille had to cut out several pieces for her way cute bed cover. after hours of cutting, ironing, and pinning she made one square and said "only 99 more to go"! it was pretty funny. can't wait to see the end result. anyway, it was super fun sewing together and chatting. i had a few minor set backs i.e. screwing up some lines that i had to pull all the stitches out of and a few break downs of the machine, so i didn't get as much done as i hoped, but all in all it was very productive. thanks again d for surging some more blankets for savanna! and camille thanks for staying up till 4am with me!

I am just realizing how quickly you guys are headed to AZ. Do you really have to go already??? The blankets you made are so dang cute! You and your family are seriously talented!!
Something about handmade blankies is so magical. I guess the thought of my mom working on it for me makes me love it so much more. It will be a special one for Savanna.
The quilts are beatiful - you've got real talent. When I was 10, I took the Santa Monica City bus to downtown LA for Singer Sewing lessons. No way could you do that today! The gifts of design and innovation are yours. Savanna's quilt is really sweet and I like the combination of your nephews quilt. I can't believe how grown up Meredith is. My Mom made a Japanese Kimona one night for a fourth grade party. It was special.
