i'm proud to be an american!

i can't help but sing that song in my head all day, but it's true i am proud to be an american! i love that song. i'm so glad to live in this country and for the freedoms we have! happy 4th of july! man did we pack it all in! we started the morning out by going down to the huntington beach parade and after a bit of battling the crowds trying to find a spot to park brennan's old boss gave us a call and said they had a spot for us right on main st! score. we watched the parade for a bit and i decided i think parades are a little overrated, but it was fun to watch carter's reaction to the horses, fire engine, big tanks, train, etc going by. we then went to yummy wahoo's for lunch at the mall. we hoped carter would fall asleep on our way up to rancho, but it didn't happen, so then we headed over the the park for some water balloon "toss" and some bball. i was sooooo dying of heat exhaust that i was way over the ball playing and finally we went to the pool to keep cool. i was then kidless, so i was able to get a little r & r in the water. ahhhhhh so nice and refreshing. then we headed back to the house to get going on the evening festivities. cindy always puts on a little program and pretends to be g.w. we said the pledge allegiance and ate some good grub! we had a tasty shrimp boil that we used to do all the time for the 4th, but it's been in remission, so this 4th we did it again. it's red potatoes, corn, carrots, and shrimp all boiled together for some yummy dishin. and then there was several other yummy things too, pasta salad, potatoe salad, watermelon, home made bread, etc. and of course you always have to have dessert, there was cookies, brownies, lemon cake, home made strawberry ice cream etc. man did we feast! after that it was fire works and then back to hb with two dead to the world kids and parents we all went to bed and peaced out! what a great day!
