ca trip nov 2008

since my last post was on halloween it's about time for a new post! it's almost thanksgivin! i can't believe how fast this time of year flys by! and i can't believe that it's still in the high 80's. i'm not complaining though i'll take it! as long as there is a breeze it's ohhhh so much more enjoyable. wow really rambling today. i feel like there is so much to be done in so little time. we just got back from another trip to ca. and it was great as always! bren had his test (from all the summer seminars), so we made a trip of it of course. i do love my husband and it's not to get away from him, but bren has been really busy w/ work and the derby dames (so it worked to stay for a bit longer). he's actually at a new location for work and loving it. it's only 5 mins away from home, so that is awesome too! i'll post some pics of the new office soon. so pretty much the bates have been super busy.

on another note, i can't believe the fires that are going on out there right now! it makes me so sad for those people who are loosing their homes and lives! when we drove back to az there were several fire trucks all along the 91 freeway and pockets of smoke all along the sides of the mountains (yorba linda area). our hearts go out to those that are being affected right now. praying for rain! here are some of our pics from our trip.

kam and her girls were in town for a few days while we were there and it was fun to hang w/ them. here is chloe and carter enjoying the water.

there were major no on prop 8 haters at a church by my dad's house, so we went to check it out. i can't believe they can have signs like "stop the hate" and stuff and then be doing things like sending bomb threats to the lds temples! is that stopping the hate? hmmm.

camille bought these halloween costumes for 90% off at target (i'm so doing that next yr) and so jeremy switched between hulk and a power ranger all day. banana's are super hero food too, just in case you didn't know!

these 2 boys have known each other since they were like 4 mo old and they are now almost 4 and still are such good buddies! even though we've moved they pick up where they left off. so cute.

we had a sunday dinner party to celebrate karen's bday and here are her little helpers blowin out the candles!

this is lizzy one of my most fav people in the world. i've known her since i was like 12 and have pretty much loved her ever since. she is so great! she was my ym advisor over 15 yrs ago too and was my escort in the temple on my wedding day! i've shared a lot w/ her and am soooo happy to have her in my life! i love you lizzy!

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...... well, maybe not quite since i can still get a tan, but it is so fun to see all the decor! i LOVE this time of year!

in hb they have a park day every tues and so it's fun for us to visit and catch up w/ friends. i think almost everyone in my old ward is preg right now! it's crazy!

sherri brought chalk for the kids and it was a big hit. this is only half of the kids that were there.

on karen's actual bday we went to pei wei in newport and it's about the craziest shopping center to park in, but it was worth the wait. yum-O food!

our last beach day. sigh. we saw a camera crew and realized that johnny knoxville's side kick wee man was at the beach. he was pretty friendly. too bad we didn't get to see johnny.

date night out. or more like 5th wheel. we got the rents to babysit for a couple of hours, so we went to el torito grill and got golden spoon. so nice to go out and not have to worry about kids every sec! thanks dad and karen. and thanks to the sumans and eisenbises for a fun night out!
