so carter is a big boy now and got to go on his first father and son's camp out! i don't know who was more excited me or carter. i almost felt emotional thinking he's going away for a night will he be warm enough, will he have fun, will he be good, silly worries, but i was nervous. before they left on friday i said "carter mom is gonna miss you while your gone" and he made sure to tell me "but mom we'll be back". it was really sweet. so they drove up to strawberry a couple hours away and had a really fun time. bren said carter loved playing w/ the other kids that were there. they played with flash lights, explored, went on a "bear hunt", roasted marshmellows and hot dogs. sounds like they had an all around great time. next year bren said he'll take savvy too! how cute! too bad that when they got back from the trip bren was down and out w/ the stomach flu, but is doing much better today and carter has stayed fine and healthy! yeah! i'm sure carter's already looking forward to next year.

carter woke up a few times in the night, but was the last kid to wake up at 9am!
and just in case your wondering what i did, i got a baby sitter for savvy and went out w/ some girls to my big fat greek restaurant, and then to frozen yogurt after. we had a fun time out and just got to chat away w/ no kids.

Great weekend! Fun and cute. Love that pic of Carter in the tent. It must have been F&Sons churchwide b/c we had ours and so did Casey's parent's ward. One day Owen will go!

This was a very special moment as a Dad. I never went to father and sons growing up in a single parent home. This was a first for Carter and I. There will be many in the years to come.
so much fun! i think tyler would love to do father and son's but i think we'll be missing it this summer (down in az!) isn't it cute when they do their little bonding things? gotta love it!
that's really cute that carter went camping with brennan! now you'll have another little boy to join in the fun in the future! and you and savanna get to have your own little girls night out! fun family.

As far as your church's father and sons trip... do the girls get to go fishing too? Not on that trip I mean... but I am always curious when my neighbors talk about the things their girls do.. it is always cooking and cleaning and stuff for them to prepare to become wives. It just makes me curious. That is all. I hope you don't mind me asking!!!
